Vintage Market

I am counting down the days until my next show Vintage Market.  With the show only 6 days away, I have been madly creating new accessories for the show.  The Vintage Market is hosted by Count Your Blessings.  The show includes 12 creative and talented ladies featuring Vintage style pieces from jewelry to home decor.  Here are a few of my Lillyan Lou accessories that will be at the show:

I Love To Decorate!
One of my favorite past times is to decorate my house.  I love finding treasures for my home.  My favorite places to shop for home decor is HomeGoods, TJ Max, and love antique stores!  I love to mix vintage antique pieces with modern pieces, I call it Vintage Chic.  Today is the first day of a series of pictures of my home with my favorite pieces.  I love birds and birdcages so I thought I would start with pictures of these.

Vintage Wedding Dress

When I recently had a special order request for flowers made from my friend's mom's wedding dress I was a little worried.  What if I messed up the material and then had nothing left to work with.  But after working with the fabric, I came up with the perfect vintage style flower to be made into several brooches. The flower brooches were being made for my friend's little girl's Baptism.  The baby girl's dress was made from the same material I had used from her grandmother's vintage wedding dress.  What a great idea!

Hunter's Owl Valentine
Since I posted Paige's Valentine...I thought I better post Hunter's Valentine.  I also found this owl printout on a blog...I can't seem to find the link I used.  Here is how they turned out:

Happy Heart Day!
On Super Bowl Sunday I put the kids to work on their Valentines.  I found a cute print at be different act normal blog @ http://www.bedifferentactnormal.com. They turned out super cute!  This is how we put them together:

DIY Couture Clutch

My sister's wedding is approaching quickly and I spent yesterday searching everywhere for a golden clutch for myself for the wedding.  I found many clutches, but they were a little pricey for 1 night. So I decided I would make my own.  I found a cute sparkly golden set of make-up bags that would be perfect to transform into an embellished evening couture clutch.  Here is a tutorial on how I did it.

Supplies I used:

Scissors
Felt
Hot Glue
Hot Glue Gun
$6 Make-up bag
3 Jewels
A pin back
Flower

1.  First I found some flower petals which I glued together making this ivory flower.  I then hot glued the 3 jewels in the center.  If you have trouble with the centers sticking to your flower, you may need to use a fabric glue instead of the hot glue.

2.  Next I cut a large circle from felt and glued it to the back of my flower.

3.  I then cut a smaller circle to use to attach my pin back to the larger felt circle attached to my flower.  The smaller circle just reinforces the pin back to the flower.

4.  Finally I attached the flower pin to my make-up bag and here it is an easy DIY couture clutch.  You also end up with a classy flower brooch to attach to your top, purse, scarf, or belt.
