- Vintage Bridal Shower -

For months I have been coming up with ideas for my sister's vintage themed bridal shower.  The shower came together perfectly this past March with the help of my sister and mom's help.  Thanks to much Pinterest inspiration, we came up with some vintage party decor.  A family friend also made a beautiful mint green cake for the occasion.  Not only was it fun setting up for the party, we had a great time that day with close family & friends.

A new look for those old paper wedding bells.

My mom made a pennant out of vintage floral handkerchiefs.

Flower seeds wrapped in paper doilies were our party favors.

Our vintage chic cake embellished with fondant flowers & a pennant I made myself.

Lots of appetizers & treats.

Water with a taste of cucumbers.

Myself & my sisters Kelsey, the bride, & Kacie, the soon-to-be mommy.

My mom ordered some vintage wedding bingo cards off Etsy & we used old buttons as markers.

My daughter Paige enjoying some blue punch out of our mason jar glasses.

Vintage Gift Wrap

With my sister's bridal shower & wedding having a vintage theme I had to come up with some vintage inspired gift wrapping ideas.  Here is what I came up with:

Wrap a doily around a box & tie the box together with a thin piece of twine.

I love using burlap to make gift bows.

This is the card I came up with.  I think I found these letter stamps at Michaels.  I punched the heart out of thicker cardboard like cardstock and punched a hole in the corner.  I then attached the heart with a piece of silk satin ribbon.

Finally, I wanted to come up with a unique gift for my sister & her new hubby's wedding gift.  I purchased a gift card from my sister's favorite vintage shop in Rockford, IL Urban Farmgirl and wrapped the card in an old book.  Before wrapping the book up, I used some stamps and stamped a message to the bride & groom on the inside cover of the book.  I cut a strip off a paper bag and wrapped it around the book.  I then ripped a strip of muslin and tied it around the book.

Vintage Bridal Shower Favors

In the past several months I have been super busy planning parties of every kind.  Since March, my daughter turned "7", my baby sister got married, and we celebrated my sister's pregnancy.  I have hosted 2 birthday parties, a bridal shower, bachelorette party, & a baby shower.  I also helped decorate at my sister's wedding!  Needless to say, I have been super busy & am really excited to post lots of party & wedding ideas on this blog from the past several months.

I thought I would start out with a how to guide to making some super easy vintage inspired party favors.  I made these vintage inspired flower seed packets for my sister Kelsey's bridal shower. I was inspired of course by a pin on Pinterest! Here is how I made them:

I used a pair of scissors, a roll of twine, some paper doilies purchased at Michaels craft store, & seed packets from a local hardware store.  This project was quick and easy.  I simply wrapped the doily around the flower seed packet and tied it with a piece of twine.

At our Vintage Bridal Shower, I placed all the seed packet party favors in an old sewing drawer.

- Blooming Brooches -

With SpRinG peeking through the clouds, I have been busy coming up with some new SpRinG accessories for Lillyan Lou's upcoming shows, The Rockford Etsy Team Show on April 5 & 6 and The 2nd Annual Vintage Market on April 19 & 20.  Here is a sneek peak at the new Blooming Brooches, perfect to attach to your jacket, sweater, purse, or to wear in your hair.

Mustache #1 Party

We recently were invited to my Best Friend's little one's first mustache birthday party.  The theme was great and the kids loved trying on the sticky mustaches.  My girlfriend cut out photos from her son's birth to his 1st year and made a banner out of it for the party.  Of course I had my mom make a mustache applique tee for Cooper.  Here are some ideas for your mustache party...

Have a Happy Mustache Day!
