Celebrating Thanksgiving!

- Happy Thanksgiving -

I thought with Thanksgiving fast approaching I would share some photos of my Thanksgiving decor in my kitchen and a fun chalkboard project perfect for your Thanksgiving festivities this week.

I finally bought some chalkboard paint to play with at Michaels in the Martha Stewart section (I have a picture of the bottle below).  The bottle was small, but I have used it for multiple projects and still have some left!  This is a frame that I turned into a challkboard.  I painted several layers of the chalkboard paint onto the glass.  This will make perfect gifts for the holidays & is perfect to use for a display at my craft shows.

This is a free printable I found on Pinterest.  You can find this printable and others on my Lillyan Lou Pinterest Boards under the Fall & Halloween board.

I also printed off a free orange & white chevron patterned paper to accent the other printable
(this printable can also be found on my Fall & Halloween board on Pinterest).

Chalkboard Tray Tutorial:

This is my chalkboard tray that I made for Thanksgiving with the chalkboard paint.  I used an old plastic charger from Target to cover.  It took several layers painted over several hours and turned out great!

I hope each and everyone of you have a great Thanksgiving holiday with your family & friends! I am so thankful for my family and friends, good health, and all my Lillyan Lou supporters. I am also thankful for my new computer since my MacBook took a dive this week...now I can share my pictures with you!  Thanks for stopping by!

Kid's Bubblegum Bathroom

Before (the only picture I took before the destruction began)
and After!

Our home has been waiting for this bathroom remodel since we moved into our home in 2004.  With the bathroom's 80's linoleum to the worn out ugly, ugly vanity...it was time to go!  After a couple of months, we finally managed to finish our kid's bathroom remodel and I couldn't be happier with the results.  Of course we haven't finished all the trim, need to paint one more coat of paint on the walls, and I would like to add a shelf over the toilet...in due time it will all get done.  Here are some pictures showing our remodel.  I have also included my bathroom print jpegs for you on the bottom of this post for you to print out for your own bathroom...enjoy!

This is a scary picture...Paige with a powertool!

The kid's went to town destroying the old linoleum floor.

 All finished!

My 3 bathroom prints I designed with vintage hooks I found at an antique shop hanging below.

My BATH sign I made from Hobby Lobby cardboard letters & metallic spray paint...
thank you Pinterest!

I found these 3 vintage bubble gum machines at a flea market and fell in LOVE with them...yes I know it is crazy I have candy gum balls in my kid's bathroom =).  I also found the old wire locker baskets filled with toilet paper at an antique shop.

Here are the 3 printables just for YOU!

Kat & Pete's Vintage Chic Wedding!

Kat & Pete's Vintage Chic Wedding!

My family & I have had such an eventful summer, so much so that I have fallen behind on my blog postings =)  Not to worry, I will catch up someday!

One of my memorable times this summer was my cousin Katryna's wedding.  The wedding ceremony & reception were held in Pecatonica, IL, with the reception out in a country field in July.  Although it was a hot day, it was a great time and turned out beautiful.  Katryna chose a Vintage Chic theme and tied in antiques and unique pieces for her wedding decor.  Her wedding made me so excited for my Sister Kelsey's wedding coming up next May!

The bride & groom, Katryna & Pete!

Sweet sign painted by my cousin on a piece of barn board.

Kat found an old suitcase to use as a wedding prop at her reception entrance.
She created her own framed chalkboard for the welcome sign.

At the entrance, Kat had a table full of family wedding memories,
including this pic of my grandparents on their cherished wedding day.

Place cards were lined up on a piece of old wood.

My cousin wrapped a touch of lace, burlap, & ribbon around vases for centerpieces.

My Mom created this adoreable Mr. & Mrs. sign for my cousin for the Wedding Party table.

What wedding doesn't have a table full of delicious SWEETs!

Kat used old wooden pop cases & crates to embellish her cupcake table.

My Aunt also bought old ivory doilies to place on the table with some vintage books.

Love this piece of a tree trunk that my cousin burned her & her
new husband's initials & wedding date on for the cake table.

In all the fun, we managed to capture a quick family photo...say CHEESE!

This old crochet set kept the kids busy!

The flower girl Miss Harper showing off one of my Lillyan Lou flower pieces!

Mr. Man & his glowing smile!

Sparklers & Glow sticks were my kid's favorites of the wedding events!

Miss Paige enjoying her sparklers!

My favorite part was lighting and sending off these awesome lanterns into the night sky!

It was a great night full of wonderful memories!  Hope you enjoyed the pictures =)
