- The Fling Before the Ring -

This past spring my sister and I planned a bachelorette party for our little sister Kelsey.  The theme we decided on was a combination starting with a relaxing Mani/Pedi morning and then dinner and drinks in the evening to follow. In preparing for the party, I put together a little tutorial on glittering up some dollar store champagne glasses.    I wanted to serve Mimosas in the morning at the salon and what better than to drink Mimosas bright and early from sparkly glittered champagne glasses!

These are the supplies I gathered for this project... 3M spray adhesive from Michaels, champagne glasses purchased at the Dollar General, & silver and pink glitter from Walmart.  I also used a shoe box to catch all the extra glitter.

First, the glasses came apart at the bottom.  I removed the bottom of the glass and sprayed adhesive on it over the box... although, I would recommend doing the adhesive spraying somewhere other than your kitchen table because it can leave a sticky residue on the table (I have been scrubbing this off my table for several months now =) ).   I then took the glitter and poured it over the adhesive.

After I covered all the glass bottoms with glitter, I put them aside to dry over night.  I then put all the glasses back together the next morning.  They turned out super cute!

Here are some of the projects I put together for this party...

I found this silver marker at Hobby Lobby and had all the girls sign this wine bottle for my sister.

I got a little carried away with the glitter and decided to cover the dollar store handcuffs too!!

I found this bride to be sash at Michaels and added some lace to the top and bottom to jazz it up a bit.  I also found these silver glitter letters at Michaels and glued them on the back of this tulle veil.

What party is complete without YUMMY cupcakes!

It was a successful Bachelorette party and lots of fun was had by all!

- Vintage Bridal Shower -

For months I have been coming up with ideas for my sister's vintage themed bridal shower.  The shower came together perfectly this past March with the help of my sister and mom's help.  Thanks to much Pinterest inspiration, we came up with some vintage party decor.  A family friend also made a beautiful mint green cake for the occasion.  Not only was it fun setting up for the party, we had a great time that day with close family & friends.

A new look for those old paper wedding bells.

My mom made a pennant out of vintage floral handkerchiefs.

Flower seeds wrapped in paper doilies were our party favors.

Our vintage chic cake embellished with fondant flowers & a pennant I made myself.

Lots of appetizers & treats.

Water with a taste of cucumbers.

Myself & my sisters Kelsey, the bride, & Kacie, the soon-to-be mommy.

My mom ordered some vintage wedding bingo cards off Etsy & we used old buttons as markers.

My daughter Paige enjoying some blue punch out of our mason jar glasses.

Vintage Gift Wrap

With my sister's bridal shower & wedding having a vintage theme I had to come up with some vintage inspired gift wrapping ideas.  Here is what I came up with:

Wrap a doily around a box & tie the box together with a thin piece of twine.

I love using burlap to make gift bows.

This is the card I came up with.  I think I found these letter stamps at Michaels.  I punched the heart out of thicker cardboard like cardstock and punched a hole in the corner.  I then attached the heart with a piece of silk satin ribbon.

Finally, I wanted to come up with a unique gift for my sister & her new hubby's wedding gift.  I purchased a gift card from my sister's favorite vintage shop in Rockford, IL Urban Farmgirl and wrapped the card in an old book.  Before wrapping the book up, I used some stamps and stamped a message to the bride & groom on the inside cover of the book.  I cut a strip off a paper bag and wrapped it around the book.  I then ripped a strip of muslin and tied it around the book.
