Meet Jesse, our Elf on the Shelf

The Bryer Elf on the Shelf Jesse has returned from the North Pole promptly after the Thanksgiving holiday.  The kids were surprised by the package they received in the mail that was set next to our mailbox one afternoon.  The instant the kids looked outside and spotted the package, they both ran outside to grab it.  Paige and Hunter were ecstatic to open up the package...the minute Paige read "North Pole" on the package she knew she would find Jesse inside.  It brought a smile to my face watching my kids get so excited to continue this tradition again this year.  This year, thank you to Pinterest, our Elf Jesse has been quite the trouble maker in our home.  He has been up to many tricks in the past few weeks, he even took a trip to the ER to get stitches as my son Hunter had his first experience getting stitches this past week.  Here is what Jesse has been up to...

Jesse, our Elf on the Shelf , arrives from the North Pole via USPS.
Every elf has a sweet tooth.
It wouldn't be Christmas if the elves didn't get to ride Santa's reindeer!
Our elf soaking up some suds after a hard day watching my little ones.
Who can resist a jar full of crayons.
Those nerds make such a mess, why not bulldoze them into the garbage basket.
Uh oh, Jesse took a trip to the ER to get his forehead stitched up.
Bandaids make everyone feel better =)
Who doesn't love being surrounded by colorful gumballs !
Every elf has to have some puppy friends.
I hope you enjoy your elf as much as we love ours!

Best,

Celebrating Thanksgiving!

- Happy Thanksgiving -

I thought with Thanksgiving fast approaching I would share some photos of my Thanksgiving decor in my kitchen and a fun chalkboard project perfect for your Thanksgiving festivities this week.

I finally bought some chalkboard paint to play with at Michaels in the Martha Stewart section (I have a picture of the bottle below).  The bottle was small, but I have used it for multiple projects and still have some left!  This is a frame that I turned into a challkboard.  I painted several layers of the chalkboard paint onto the glass.  This will make perfect gifts for the holidays & is perfect to use for a display at my craft shows.

This is a free printable I found on Pinterest.  You can find this printable and others on my Lillyan Lou Pinterest Boards under the Fall & Halloween board.

I also printed off a free orange & white chevron patterned paper to accent the other printable
(this printable can also be found on my Fall & Halloween board on Pinterest).

Chalkboard Tray Tutorial:

This is my chalkboard tray that I made for Thanksgiving with the chalkboard paint.  I used an old plastic charger from Target to cover.  It took several layers painted over several hours and turned out great!

I hope each and everyone of you have a great Thanksgiving holiday with your family & friends! I am so thankful for my family and friends, good health, and all my Lillyan Lou supporters. I am also thankful for my new computer since my MacBook took a dive this week...now I can share my pictures with you!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hunterman's Super Hero Birthday Party!

In looking through my pictures, I realized I had forgotten to post pictures of Hunter's 3rd birthday party.     The theme he picked was Super Heros.  I had recently bought some Michael Miller comic fabric from my friend's fabric shop, Spindlecloth on Etsy and I was excited to use it for the party.  I had my Mom create a super hero applique for my kids to wear at the party.  I also ordered a vintage super hero party themed printable set from Wants and Wishes design on Etsy.  I could not find her shop any longer on Etsy, but did find her blog Wants and Wishes Design .  The pack included a banner, cupcake toppers with my son's name and birthday number 3 on them, popcorn bag labels, food labels, and party treat bag labels.  I also used 2 large boxes to decorate as a city skyscrapers for the kids to take pictures in front of.  I found some super hero mask templates on Pinterest and made some masks for pictures too.  Of course we had to have water balloons from Wet Will-E Water Balloons on a hot summer day.  Here are some pictures of our Super Hero party!

This banner was made by my mom out of Michael Miller fabric.
My mom sells her banners on Etsy at Three K Designs.

Party treat bags and a framed Super Hero printable that I made
with different fonts I found free on Pinterest.

Hunter's superhero shirt made by my Mom also!

Yummy cupcakes!

After running out of water balloons, Hunter decided
