Paige's Posh Puppy Party !

I look forward every year to 2 things, Paige & Hunter's birthday parties!  The kid's and I pick a theme months before, so I can dream up the perfect party!  I love seeing the kid's smiles when the party comes together.  This year Paige dreamt up a puppy party and off to Pinterest I went to find all kinds of ideas.  We had a great time celebrating Paige's 6th Birthday and here are some of Paige's Posh Puppy Party pictures and ideas.

Here is Miss Paige with her decoupaged 6 made with tissue paper, 

glue, and poster board.  Perfect to use as decor or as a photo prop!

Thanks to Pinterest...I created my own tissue paper decor.

Paige's special request...puppy bones and dog house cupcakes.

This was Paige's Adopt-a-Pup adopting station.  

Each of the girls went home witha puppy of their own and

 an adoption certificate with their puppy's name on it.

These puppies were only $1 at the Dollar General and 

Paige and I embellished them with chevron ribbons.

I found some dog silhouettes on Google images, traced them 

onto scrapbook paper,and cut them out to use as decor for the party! 

You can never go wrong with streamers.

Scooby Doo graham cracker sticks were a hit!

I purchased the dog bone cookie cut outs from Hobby Lobby, 

packaged the cookies in bags, tied them with tulle, and then

added a Lillyan Lou flower hair clip for the perfect goodie bag!

Girls just want to have fun!

 we made with strips of poster board.  We attached velcro to the

 ends and then all the girls had a great time decorating them.

No party is complete without some face painting fun!

In all, the girls had a great time and the party was officially a success!

* Happy 6th Birthday to My Baby Girl! *

Today is full of great memories of my little girl Paige growing up into my big 6 year old!  In celebration of her birthday today, I thought that I would post a few birthday party themes from my family's past.  First up is Paige's Bowling party last year.  

For every themed party that I have, I always print off a sign with cute font onto cardstock that I buy at Walmart.  You can find different fonts to download on http://pinterest.com/.  I then attach it to a piece of trendy scrapbook paper.

A couple of days prior to the party, I like to make up goodie bags for all our little guests.  The supplies I used for this party were my Crop-a-Dile hole punch, scissors, candy & little toys, polka dot tulle (purchased at Hobby Lobby) cut into approximately 5 to 6 inch strips, & white paper bags (purchased at Wamart).

Of course I had to design a flower clip for the girls for the party bags.  Paige chose this pink and purple felt and sparkly beads at Michaels and I used some pink polka dot tulle from Hobby Lobby. 

Look at all these goodies!  I like to mix some candy with little toys and kid's fruit snacks.

I started by folding over the top of the lunch bag and punching two holes with the hole punch toward the top of the folded flap.  The holes are there to feed the tulle piece through to tie a bow to close the bag in the end.

I also make sure that I marked the boys bags (without the hair clips) with a blue mark to save confusion the day of the party.

After filling the bags with all the goodies, I tied the tulle into a bow.

I also designed a bowling headband for my daughter using the harder, more stiff sparkly paper found at Michaels near the felt area.  I punched out a circle from my Sizzix machine and then glued 3 sequins to look the the finger holes on a bowling ball.  I also found a picture on Google images of a bowling pin and traced it on the white felt and cut out a number 5 and 2 pink strips to embellish the pin with.  I then glued all the embellishments with hot glue and applied a pin back and reinforced it with a felt circle onto the back of the bowling pin.

For treats, I had my friend at http://lilybearphotography.blogspot.com/ design these cupcakes with fondant bowling balls and bowling pins.  They turned out great and all the kids LoVeD them!

In the end it was a great party!

I Love To Decorate!

One of my favorite past times is to decorate my house.  I love finding treasures for my home.  My favorite places to shop for home decor is HomeGoods, TJ Max, and love antique stores!  I love to mix vintage antique pieces with modern pieces, I call it Vintage Chic.  Today is the first day of a series of pictures of my home with my favorite pieces.  I love birds and birdcages so I thought I would start with pictures of these.

Vintage Wedding Dress

When I recently had a special order request for flowers made from my friend's mom's wedding dress I was a little worried.  What if I messed up the material and then had nothing left to work with.  But after working with the fabric, I came up with the perfect vintage style flower to be made into several brooches. The flower brooches were being made for my friend's little girl's Baptism.  The baby girl's dress was made from the same material I had used from her grandmother's vintage wedding dress.  What a great idea!
